Imagine.

You’re lying in bed, legs intertwined with your significant other’s. You are giggling about something awkward that happened while getting freaky and your forehead glistens with sweat. After some pillow talk, you slowly nod off to sleep to dream of the BIG-O you experienced prior.

Only to wake to a burning sensation down there. CRAP! To your horror, you suddenly remember you forgot to go to the washroom after enjoying sex last night. Yes, you know what we’re talking about – the dreaded Urinary Tract Infection (UTI). Most of us have been there and unfortunately if you haven’t yet, you most likely will at some point.

So, how do you avoid them, and what can you do to get rid of one!?

Ladies, after you have sex every single time, the first thing you should do is go to the washroom. Yes, you can enjoy some after sex cuddles, but nothing else in this world should influence you to skip this step. Going to the washroom can help prevent UTIs. Urinating after sex helps cleanse the urethra of the harmful bacteria transmitted while having intercourse. Following this step will help reduce the chances of you getting a UTI. Crazy, right?

But if you find yourself in a situation where the UTI is about to present itself to your reproductive system, here are some tips and tricks we can share to help you get through it. We are sure you’ve heard about the cranberry juice trick. There is no real scientific proof that drinking the juice helps pass the UTI; however you can try it to flush out your system. The more hydrated you stay, the better. Sipping a good dose of water throughout the day, investing in some probiotics, and practicing good sexual hygiene are also some basic precautionary measures you can take. If yet, it doesn’t pass within a couple of days, we recommend seeing your doctor to get a prescription or get a urine culture test done.

Yes, UTIs truly suck, but we know you’ll get through it. Now go, take your probiotics and enjoy some freaky sex. Don’t forget to pee after!
